Binotto will serve as Chief Operating and Chief Technical Officer (COO and CTO) in the leadership team of Sauber Motorsport AG, with responsibility for the team's overall operations and technical development.

Binotto's departure from Ferrari ends weeks of speculation about his future in Formula One. The Italian engineer had been under pressure following a disappointing season for the Scuderia, which finished third in the constructors' championship and failed to win a single race.
